Charitable Services Program

The Charitable Services Program (CSP) is at the heart and soul of the Hearing Speech and Deaf Center. While we excel at the provision of state-of-the-art clinical care for persons with speech/language and hearing disorders, as well as interpreting and advocacy for persons who are Deaf, we recognize that people with financial resources can choose from a variety of providers, however there is a large segment of our community who are not as fortunate. These people are the working poor; retirees living on social security or meager pensions; families who may be paying out of pocket for catastrophic medical expenses.

Each year, more than 1000 individuals benefited from the Charitable Services Program. Assistance ranged from a hearing test for a baby to determine if she had hearing loss, to a sign language interpreter facilitating a hospital visit for an elderly woman who is Deaf, and speech therapy for a little boy who stutters.
