  Hearing Conservation Program funded by Dater Foundation.
  HSDC receives a $20,000 grant to provide education to underserved school aged children on the
dangers of loud noise and the possibility becoming permanently hearing impaired due to excessive noise.

June 2006
  Annual Meeting of the Board.
  New members elected in 2006 include Robert Dehner, David Haffner, Barbara Miller and Hersch Patel.

May 2006
  Stuttering Support Group officially begins.
  Contact Melissa Horwarth for monthly meeting schedule. Facilitated by Damien Wilson, HSDC client and Melissa Horwarth, HSDC speech language pathologist. Held monthly on Friday nights at the Center.

  May 2006 HSDC conducts first Video Relay Interpreting assignment in the state of Ohio.
  Utilizing high speed internet connections and sophisticated video conferencing equipment. An interpreting assignment took place with the interpreter at HSDC and the consumer in Zanesville, Ohio.

January 2006
  Susan Rodenberg joins the Hearing Center
  Susan Rodenberg joins the staff as Director of Development. Ms. Rodenberg has significant experience in all aspects of fund development. Most recently, she was Executive Director (and, prior to that, Director of Development) at Fernside: Center for Grieving Children.
